COMMUNITY GARDEN PLOT PROGRAM

The municipality operates 40 community garden plots at the Riverside Community Garden on Water Street. Plots measure 3 metres by 6 metres and rent for $30 per season, running May 1 to October 31. Raised accessible beds are available on request.

Registration opens March 1 at the municipal office and online. Returning gardeners may renew their plot until March 15, after which unrenewed plots are released to the waiting list. A maximum of two plots per household applies.

Gardeners must use organic practices only; synthetic pesticides and herbicides are prohibited. Water is provided via rain barrels and a seasonal tap. A shared tool shed is available; gardeners provide their own hand tools.

Plots must be planted by June 15 and kept weeded through the season. Abandoned plots are reassigned without refund. All plants and structures must be removed by October 31.
