WINTER SNOW REMOVAL AND ICE CONTROL POLICY Priority routes. Emergency routes and school zones are plowed first, within 8 hours of snowfall ending. Residential streets are cleared within 24 hours. Cul-de-sacs and lanes are cleared last, within 48 hours. Winter parking ban. From December 1 to March 31, overnight street parking is prohibited between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM to allow plow access. Vehicles blocking plow routes will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner's expense. Sidewalks. The municipality clears sidewalks on collector streets and around municipal buildings. Property owners are responsible for clearing sidewalks fronting their property within 24 hours of snowfall. Snow storage. Residents must not push snow from driveways onto or across public streets. Contractors clearing commercial lots must haul snow to the designated snow storage facility on Industrial Drive. Damage claims. Sod or mailbox damage caused by municipal plows may be reported to the public works department before April 30 for repair or reimbursement.
